Daughter of Lot
Author information page
As a pastor's wife I frequently have the opportunity to speak with hurting women both in the community and in the church. A common problem shared by almost all of these women is that lack of "God-confidence" - that heart certainty that they are of value to God. Their relationship with God is shaky, filled with doubt, fear, guilt and shame - trust is difficult at best. Having been there myself, I understand those feelings.  Sexual abuse at a young age  damaged my spiritual and emotional health.  But like my Bible heroine, Ruth, God orchestrated the events of my life to bring me into a positive, growing relationship with Him. I have learned I am a Daughter of God!
After graduating from Zion Bible Institute in East Providence RI in 1973, Dan and I married and entered the ministry. When our three children became teenagers, my heart began to be burdened for all the hurting women I met in ministry.  I decided to become a lay counselor through the program at Emerge Ministries in Akron, OH to help them.  Instead, I discovered my own need for a spiritual healing and deeper relationship with God.
As I began my journey toward healing, I gained the confidence to return to school and enrolled at Empire State College,Binghamton, NY, where I completed a degree in Adult Learning and Mentoring. That college experience fueled my desire to become a writer.
I am currently a regular contributor to an online magazine called
Reflections, with a regular monthly column, "It's a Caterpillar's Life." I have published devotionals, short stories, poetry, and card verse in addition to my new novel, Daughter of Lot. In our local churches, I have developed weekly curriculum for  children, VBS programs, church drama groups  and holiday pageants.  I also served as a reporter / news editor for a weekly newspaper in upstate New York for three years. I was priveleged to mentor teens through our local high school who were interested in journalism as a career.
I am available to share this message of discovery and growth with  churches or women's groups in VA, MD, PA, Ohio, WV and upstate NY. Over the years as a pastor's wife, I have taught workshops at denominational conferences, both on a state and local level for Sunday School and Women's Ministry functions.  I have also spoken for local women's groups. Topics included: Dealing with issues of sexual abuse, developing a healthy image of God, and other  inspirational topics.
